I have a male writer friend who...Good to know, Ken! I have a male writer friend who has complained about "boy books" that sound like they're written from a middle-aged woman's perspective. I asked him to read the first manuscript in my Haunted Series, the Ghost on the Stairs, where the narrator is a 13-year-old boy. He had a few suggestions, but basically it passed. Whew! I also had a male editor on the series. They wanted to know if the MC was believable. So far I've never had a problem with the characters.
